U.S. ARMY RECOGNIZES CONTRIBUTIONS OF HISPANIC HERITAGE FOUNDATION ALONG WITH HISPANIC SOLDIERS AND OTHER COMMUNITY LEADERS

Washington, DC The U.S. Army honored Antonio Tijerino and the Hispanic soldiers and leaders from some of the nation’s foremost Hispanic advocacy organizations. Soldiers and civilian leaders will be recognized for their selfless service and contributions to the nation.

 

The ceremony’s guest of honor, Under Secretary of the U.S. Army, Dr. Joseph Westphal, will join other Army representatives in recognizing these soldiers and civilian leaders.

 

Recognized soldiers and civilian leaders will include:

·         Lt. Col. David J. Yebra, U.S. Army Cadet Command Professor of Military Science of the Year

·         Staff Sgt. Beatriz Flores-Torres, Potomac Recruiting Battalion

·         Brent Wilkes, national executive director, League of United Latin American Citizens

·         Antonio Tijerino, president and CEO, Hispanic Heritage Foundation

·         Douglas Garcia, executive director of federal relations, Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities
