San Francisco, CA--Gracefully Global Group LLC, a woman-owned, veteran-owned niche publishing and marketing firm, and Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship (V-WISE) a training program operated by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University, are partnering to help raise funds for the national program. It educates and mentors women veterans through entrepreneurship, to pursue self-employment as a post-service career. The synergistic partnership comes ahead of the upcoming launch of the publisher’s second book--the first bilingual children’s picture book that teaches young children why mommies and women wear military uniforms. Titled Good Night Captain Mama (Buenas Noches Capitán Mamá in Spanish), the book was written by award-winning author and military veteran, Graciela Tiscareño-Sato. Tiscareño-Sato is a sought-after speaker on entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership.

Good Night Captain Mama was written to provide preschool, kindergarten, early elementary grade teachers, parents and grandparents of children ages three to eight a beautiful picture book to explain (simply) the complexity of military service. “I want to ensure that when school children celebrate Veterans Day, images of women proudly serving in uniform are front and center,” shares Tiscareño–Sato. “This imagery is not commonly found in classrooms today, so a skewed view of our nation’s military persists and basic questions go unanswered.”

Inspired by a conversation between the author and her four year-old son when he saw her in her flight suit, the picture book is beautifully illustrated by Ms. Linda Lens whose father also served in the United States Air Force. The book will go to press in June for a national release on the 4th of July. It will also be released on the Kindle and iPad platforms this summer, and be available via accessible formats through Bookshare.org.

In addition, sales of this book will support military veterans directly through V-WISE. “Gracefully Global Group is delighted to support the important mission of V-WISE through sales of this unique children’s book, the first in a planned series starring Captain Mama’s son Marco and her family.” continues Tiscareño-Sato, “I appreciate that V-WISE recognizes the leadership, integrity, focus and drive, of women veterans like me. It’s imperative that women leaving the military learn how to create growth ventures with mentors at their side. This creates an entrepreneurship path our lady vets can successfully pursue, to become economic contributors and continue to function as leaders.”

Good Night Captain Mama is a book that I would recommend to any service member who is also a parent. It provides a positive outlook on female service members, gives children a better understanding of United States Air Force patches and the important role that their mothers play in today’s military. We are happy to support Graciela on this project, and greatly appreciate her support of V-WISE through donated proceeds from the sales of her book,” says Tina M. Kapral, IVMF director of education programs.

All who preorder copies of Good Night Captain Mama directly from the publisher between now and April 22nd at www.captainmama.com will have their names listed in the book and at the book’s website
http://www.captainmama.com/index.php?page=earliest-supporters. Those who order two or more books will also receive embroidered military-style patches of the book’s cover art.
