Washington, DC – The National Hispana Leadership Institute (NHLI), the nation’s premier organization for Latinas, will unveil details to celebrate its 2010 Executive Leadership Training Conference and Mujer Awards to be held on November 4-5 at the Hyatt Regency Miami, Miami, Florida.
Co-founded by Miami’s own Maria Elena Toraño, Board Chair Emeritus, NHLI is the premier executive leadership organization preparing Latinas for positions of national and international influence, public policy impact and to contribute to the advancement of the Hispanic community.
Going on its tenth year, the Executive Leadership Training Conference and Mujer Awards provides cutting-edge leadership and professional development, networking, educational and inspirational keynotes and workshops facilitated by top-level Latinas from across the country.
At the Mujer Awards Gala, celebrated since 1993, NHLI will close the conference by paying tribute to the achievements and contributions of exceptional Latina leaders. WHY? While 50.8% of employed women in the US hold managerial and professional positions only 3.6% of those positions are held by Latinas. Education/professional development, role models and mentors, and networking are key elements to increasing the pool of professional Latinas.
Developing and investing in women has the biggest payoff for a community; this has been repeatedly proven around the world. The conference provides Latinas tools to be stronger leaders so that their families, communities and the country benefit. In these economic times, the conference provides Latinas training and networking opportunities that can help them advance their careers; inspiration to make that next change in their career lives, and the opportunity to network with other Latina leaders from across the nation. Attendees leave the conference with the skills to be more effective executives, educators, public servants, mentors and community advocates.
