Phoenix, AZ – This competition is open to anyone who has completed a dissertation that focuses on Hispanic(s) in higher education or to any Hispanic individual who has completed a dissertation in the social sciences, broadly defined, between December 2009 and August 1, 2011.

The top three winners will be invited and sponsored to attend the 7^th Annual AAHHE National Conference (March 8-10, 2012) in Costa Mesa, California to present their dissertation and receive their award. The first place winner will receive an award of $5,000, the second place winner will receive $2,000, and the third place winner will receive $1,000.

Please share the attached dissertation guidelines with faculty, colleagues, recent doctoral graduates and current candidates who are eligible and encourage them to apply!

Deadline to submit a dissertation abstract for the competition:

September 5, 2011!
