Washington, DC - The National Puerto Rican Coalition Inc. (NPRC) wishes to announce the election of Jerome Garffer to our Board of Directors.

"NPRC is the primary civil right non-partisan public policy organization representing the Puerto Rican community in Washington DC. The strength of our organization is our ability to advocate for our community on critical issues that affect our constituents. Economic empowerment is a major priority for our organization. Mr. Garffer brings the knowledge, expertise, and network to guide us in addressing economic stability issues affecting Puerto Ricans on the Island and the mainland. In addition, Mr. Garffer is a passionate and effective advocate for equality and fairness" said Rafael A. Fantauzzi, President & CEO of the National Puerto Rican Coalition.

"I am honored to have been named to the Board of Directors of the National Puerto Rican Coalition, which is based in Washington DC and is the largest advocacy group in favor of all Puerto Ricans. My appointment will be accompanied by a great sense of responsibility toward making sure our rights as Puerto Ricans and U.S. Citizens are respected and recognized. I will work to make sure that both our economic and political influence as Hispanics continues to grow throughout the nation. At the same time I will be a strong voice so that Puerto Ricans living on the Island receive equal and dignified consideration as do Puerto Ricans living within the 50 States", said Jerome Garffer. "I want to thank Mr. Rafael Fantauzzi as well as the Board of Directors for designating me as a new board member."

NPRC's current Board of Directors include: Miguel D. Lausell, Ron Blackburn-Moreno, Jose Rodriguez-Pagan, Albert Collazo, Norelie Garcia, and Roberto Prats-Palerm.
