Annandale, VA – On behalf of the Board of Directors for the Northern Virginia Minority Chambers of Commerce, the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Asian American Chamber of Commerce, invitations are being sent out for those willing to participate in the 2nd Annual Multi- Chamber Candidate Forum for Northern Virginia.
The 2nd Annual Multi-Chamber Candidate Forum provides an opportunity for the fast growing minority business community to meet and interview candidates from the race for VA10, VA8, VA11 and US Senate. Democratic candidates will have the room Sunday, Oct. 5th from 4-5 pm; following that, Republican candidates have the room from 5-6 pm at the Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus.
Confirmed candidates that will attend include:
Senate: Senator Mark Warner (D) Incumbent; Ed Gillespie (R) Challenger
VA 11: Congressman Gerry Connolly (D) Incumbent; Susan Scholte (R) Challenger
VA 10: Supervisor John Foust (D) Challenger; Delegate Barbara Comstock (R) Challenger
VA 8: Micah Edmonds (R) Challenger; Don Beyer – (D)
The format is a forum and not a debate, which allows each party to exclusively have the room for one hour, with each candidate making a brief presentation. No questions will be allowed, and individual interviews can be scheduled with each candidate. Last year, over 300 guests and 10 ethnic and mainstream media attended.
