Washington, DC - In celebration of Pride Month, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) and Twitter will host a Latinx LGBTQ + Charla on June 11th at the Twitter Offices in Washington, DC, 5:30 - 7:30 pm.  Charlas are HHF’s interactive, audience-led, dynamic platforms organized across the country on a variety of topics.  At the Charlas, the actual community is able to present, discuss and share personal experiences as well as ideas, actions and projects through a series of five-minute, back-to-back presentations which range from extemporaneous to formal.

RSVP at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/latinx-lgbtq-loft-charla-registration-59795432749 to attend or submit a presentation topic to be considered as a presenter. Allies are welcomed.   “As a community, Latinos are extremely diverse,” said Antonio Tijerino, president and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. “We need to have a better understanding and appreciation of each other including our GLBTQ brothers and sisters.  It’s critical we provide everyone in our community with platforms to define ourselves, our values, and what binds us.  We want to celebrate Pride Month by hearing the journeys and perspectives of our Latinx GLBTQ community but also how we can more powerfully come together to move forward with greater strength. We are grateful to our friends at Twitter for hosting this important Charla.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to host Latinx LGBTQ + at our Twitter DC offices,” Carlos Monje, Jr., Twitter Public Policy and Philanthropy North America Director said. “At Twitter, free expression is core to our beliefs and we know every voice has the power to change the world."

Charlas are focused on SPEAKing, LISTENing, CONNECTing, and STRENGTHENing the Latinx community in an effort to also encourage collaboration, support and connectivity.  The participants leave with new perspectives, inspirations, and a stronger network.  Participants continue to be engaged through HHF’s LOFT (Latinos On Fast Track) Network and the organization’s year-round programs.
