CHCI Swearing-In Ceremony to Welcome Hispanic Members of the 114th Congress

Washington, DC – The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), the nation’s premier Latino youth leadership development and educational organization, will host a welcome reception for the Hispanic members of the 114th Congress at a ceremonial swearing-in on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, in the Congressional Auditorium at the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C.   Judge Terry J. Hatter, Jr., Chief Judge, Central District of California, will participate in the program and swear-in the Hispanic members of the 114th Congress, including newly-elected CHCI Chair Rep. Linda Sanchez.

 

CHCI welcomes the largest class of Hispanic members of Congress in our nation’s history with 37 members of Hispanic descent elected or returning to Senate and House seats in January.  The Latino community played a pivotal role in the November elections on a national level and in state and local races all around the country.
