Washington, DC – On July 28th and 29th, 2014, the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council will hold its 12th Annual Access to Capital and Telecom Policy Conference, “Spotlight on Opportunity, Innovation, and Inclusion in the New Digital Ecosystem.” The Conference will convene hundreds of media and telecom industry experts, policymakers, innovators, investors, and entrepreneurs to highlight the most far-reaching issues affecting minority entrepreneurs and underserved communities.

Current and former FCC commissioners, members of Congress, and industry leaders will discuss:

  • Major milestones and emerging issues in media and telecommunications that have created opportunities or barriers to MWBE participation
  • Solutions for bridging the widening wealth gaps between historically disadvantaged minority groups and other Americans
  • The leading employment and business opportunities in the media and telecommunications industries and in Silicon Valley
  • Where investors are putting their money, what’s driving M&A activity, and where the opportunities are for MWBEs
  • How policies that advance minority entrepreneurship can help stimulate economic opportunity, generate wealth, and enhance innovation in the nation’s most influential industries
  • How universal broadband adoption can create jobs, promote STEM education, and enable the creation of diverse content and applications for telehealth, digital education, and entrepreneurship.
