HISTORY WILL BE MADE: LET THE VOTERS DECIDE

Washington, DC With less than a week before Democrats gather for the National Convention, it is puzzling why the highest leaders of the Democratic Party, President Obama and Vice President Biden, would get involved and endorse in a historic U.S. Senate race between two Democratic women of color.

With their endorsement, the President and Vice President disregarded Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez’s two decades of public service to our country. She is a high-ranking member of the Armed Services Committee and Homeland Security Committee and has fought to protect the environment, pass healthcare reform, increase the minimum wage and expand educational opportunities. She has been a loyal Democrat and strong supporter of President Obama and his Administration.

At a time when we face contested races across the country for House and Senate  seats as well as supporting Hillary Clinton against Donald Trump, the President and Vice President should be uniting the party and letting the voters decide who the most qualified candidate is in a race that is assured to be a democratic seat.

Neutrality is what we would have expected out of our highest leadership unfortunately they decided to take sides when it was not necessary.
