LATINA Style Announces the Top Hispanic Employee Resource Groups for 2014

Washington, D.C.  LATINA Style, Inc. the premier company addressing the needs of the Latina professional and business owner in the U.S. and publisher of LATINA Style magazine names HACEMOS, AT&T’s Hispanic/Latino Association, as the Employee Resource Group of the Year for 2014. HACEMOS receives recognition for their commitment to empower their members, foster relationship building, diversity and inclusion, and for providing opportunities for employees to grow. 

 

Since 2010, LATINA Style has recognized and honored the Top 5 Hispanic Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in the country. ERGs provide growth for their members, assist in business goals, and are key resources to a company’s bottom line. We applaud AT&T for creating opportunities where employees can interact, network and develop professionally,” states Robert E. Since 1982, HACEMOS, AT&T’s Hispanic/Latino association and one of the largest employee resource groups in the telecommunications industry serves 28,772 Hispanic employees with a total of 229,920 U.S. –based AT&T employees. The philanthropic organization’s mission is to ‘foster an environment where people support and encourage each other to succeed professionally, personally and in the community’. With three primary objectives: To prepare membership for advancement opportunities; to help AT&T reach its objectives, and to improve the quality of life in the Hispanic community, HACEMOS is an organization where all members of the Hispanic/Latino community can thrive. Today, 50 percent of the National Board is Latina, including its national president.

 

The top Employee Resource Groups for 2014 recognized for exceptional leadership are:  

  • Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership and Advancement (HOLA) of Bank of America;
  •  Conexión of Cisco; 
  • Hispanic Business Council of Target; and 
  • Hispanic Initiative Team (GM HIT) of General Motors. 

ERGs not only connect and empower its employees but also the local community. ERGs also provide mentoring and training resources to its members, and aid in the innovation and company’s bottom line and successThere are four additional companies who demonstrate innovative work, and are included in this year’s Employee Resource Groups as honorable mentions. They are: Professional Latino Allstate Network (PLAN) of Allstate; Sodexo Organization of Latinos (SOL) of Sodexo; Enlace of Sprint, and Hispanic Support Organization (HSO) of Verizon. Other distinguished ERGs include Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Achievement (HOLA) of Johnson & Johnson and Virtually Intelligence Providers, LLC (VIP).

 

The selected Employee Resource Groups will be recognized at the 12th Annual LATINA Style 50 Awards Ceremony & Diversity Leaders Conference on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Washington DC located in Crystal City, 300 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, VA 22202. The conference will present powerful workshops discussing issues related to Latinas in corporate America and feature prominent diversity leaders from the companies selected to the 2014 LATINA Style 50. Learn first-hand how Latina executives in America’s largest corporations have achieved success and what lessons they learned along the way. The LATINAStyle 50 Awards luncheon will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
