LATINO LEADERS NETWORK HONORS ACTOR, PRODUCER, HUMANITARIAN EDWARD JAMES OLMOS

Washington, DC - Actor and filmmaker Edward James Olmos will keynote the Latino Leaders Luncheon Serieshosted by the Latino Leaders Network (LLN) on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 at The Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. He will also receive the Eagle Leadership Award for his outstanding contributions to the Latino community and our country through his humanitarian and advocacy efforts.

“Edward James Olmos is an iconic Latino leader,” states Mickey Ibarra, Founder and Chairman of LLN, “his achievements as an actor and filmmaker are impressive, and his commitment to improve the lives of his community and numerous others makes him extraordinary.”

Originally a musician, Mr. Olmos has received nominations for Tony, Emmy and Academy Awards® for his acting roles. Best known as Lieutenant Martin Castillo in the iconic 80’s television series “Miami Vice,” Olmos is also known as an international advocate, spokesman, and humanitarian working with many organizations such as Thank You Ocean, Project Hope Foundation, and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. ‘There’s only one race, and that’s the human race,’ Olmos says.

The Luncheon program will feature an honoree tribute by Paula Kerger, PBS President & CEO, and an honoree introduction by Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chairwoman, Representative Linda Sanchez of California’s 38th Congressional district.

In addition, County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III of Prince George’s County, will be the featured community partner.  Executive Baker has distinguished himself as a champion of immigrants, the Hispanic community and the Latino Leaders Network.

The Latino Leaders Luncheon Seriesconsists of quarterly events convened by invitation-only in Washington D.C. and other major U.S. cities to provide a platform for prominent Latino leaders to share their personal story of obstacles overcome to achieve success. It also provides a networking opportunity for elected officials, policy makers, corporate executives, opinion leaders, community activists, industry experts, and political insiders. Major sponsors include Anheuser-Busch Foundation, Univision, and Southwest Airlines.
