ZGS Communications Announces Recipients of Inaugural Scholarship and Internship Program

WASHINGTON, DC - ZGS Communications, in a joint partnership with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, is pleased to announce the recipients of the CHCI-ZGS Communications Scholar-Intern program. The scholarship and paid internship project was designed to offer qualifying Latino students a dynamic real-world work experience in a multi-media environment, while providing monetary compensation and scholarship funds to help students with the financial burdens of post-secondary education. 

The 2016 CHCI-ZGS Communications Scholar Intern awardees include:

Camila Rodriguez of Riverview, Florida

Elizabeth Bazan of Oviedo, Florida

Junior, University of Central Florida

 

Eric Alfaro Jr. of Orlando, Florida

B.A., Radio/Television/Film

Gabriella Nuñez of Hialeah, Florida

B.S., Journalism

Junior, University of Florida

 

Each student will receive a $2,500 scholarship along with the opportunity of a six-week paid internship at ZGS’s Telemundo affiliates in Orlando and Tampa. 

“We are excited to partner with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and to invest and support the growth and development of future Latino leaders in our industry. We had some very strong applicants, and are thrilled with the caliber and commitment of the students that were selected to the CHCI-ZGS Communications Scholar Intern program for 2016,” said Ronald J. Gordon, CEO of ZGS Communications. He added, “We look forward to having them at our Telemundo stations this summer, and to supporting their academic endeavors.”
