Washington, DC – Washington’s very sociable organization for young professionals, Things To Do [TTD], is offering a special look into the vibrant culture inside Malawi. This Friday, January 20, patrons are invited to join Malawi’s new Ambassador at Washington’s newest embassy.
According to TTD, activities include an authentic Malawian reception and celebration of its art, cuisine and culture. Ambassador Steve Matenje and Embassy staff will be on hand to welcome patrons as well as introduce the art, culture and cuisine of Malawi.
The event highlights the transformation of the dilapidated, fire damaged, century old eye sore near the Vice President’s residence into a celebrated destination for Washington’s social set.
Forrester Construction Company led the renovation project as general contractor in partnership with VERCO Management Company for the initial renovation. It should be noted that VERCO’s shoring and scaffolding installations [engineered by Patuxent Engineering] successfully reduced the interior to a shell of a structure from which this new little jewel of an Embassy has emerged from plans by Powe Jones Architects.
African owned National Environmental Services partnered with VERCO on the abatement elements.
