Greenville, NC - The Wilson chapter of The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina (AMEXCAN) and the Seeds of Hope Wilson will be hosting a Multicultural Festival at Vick Elementary 504 N. Carroll Street Wilson, NC 27893 on Saturday May 1st from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

The Festival is free and open to the public and will celebrate the rich and diverse Latino cultures within our community through music, dance, art and more.

Embracing and encouraging cultural diversity and different schools of thought are essential for community success and innovation. When community leaders with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and points of view come together and respect each other’s input, they create collaborative action plans and efforts that facilitate our many community efforts.

The Multicultural Festival will feature local organizations that provide information booths and services and education opportunities to introduce the diverse Latino culture to the overall community here in Wilson.  There will also be cultural food and fun activities for children available.

Currently, many in our community are categorizing groups of people by various factors including culture, race, and ethnicity. AMEXCAN contradicts these movements by facilitating cultural events and programs that invite the whole community to learn about the rich and diverse Latino Cultures and provide opportunities for networking between institutions, local organizations, businesses, individuals, and more. Please come out and join AMEXCAN and Seeds of Hope Wilson in appreciation and support of the Latino Community.
