Vice President Joe Biden Joins CHCI Swearing-In Ceremony to Welcome Hispanic Members of the 113th Congress

 Washington, DC - The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), the nation’s premier Latino youth leadership development and educational organization, will host a welcome reception for the Hispanic members of the 113th Congress at a ceremonial swearing-in on Thursday, January 3, 2013, in the East Hall at Union Station in Washington, D.C. Vice President Joe Biden will participate in the program and swear-in the Hispanic members of the 113th Congress, and newly-elected CHCI Chair Rep. Rubén Hinojosa

 
CHCI welcomes the largest class of Hispanic members of Congress in our nation’s history with 36 members of Hispanic descent elected or returning to Senate and House seats in January.  The Latino community played a pivotal role in the November elections on a national level and in state and local races all around the country.

Media must RSVP to the CHCI press office by 2:00 pm on January 3, 2013.   Television cameras and equipment must be preset in the Union Station East Hall on Thursday between 2:30 and 2:50 pm prior to security sweep.  Press check-in will begin at 5:45 pm and close at 6:30 pm. Ceremony start time may change depending on voting schedule in Congress. The press riser is located 50 feet from stage so please bring appropriate cameras.
