Albany, NY - During Pride Month and for the second year in a row, the New York State Latino Gay/Bi Men's Summit will happen in Albany. The Summit was born on the need to develop recommendations for the implementation of the Governor Cuomo's Plan to End the AIDS Epidemic in New York State by 2020. In the first edition, it was about ensuring that participants became familiarized with the plan and understand the recommendations for Latino Gay/Bi men and ensure that they would take this information to their respective communities and organizations. The summit is convening by the Latino Commission on AIDS and community partners.

This year's summit will be focusing in formulating ideas on how we can best network to ensure that we're sharing information and mobilizing Latino Gay/Bi Men in New York State around health issues to improve their wellness and wellbeing. The Summit will take place at the Renaissance Hotel.

"As we see HIV incidence rates decrease and stabilize among some communities, we continue to see an overall increase among Latino Gay/Bi men, transgender Latinas, young adults and cis women. There is something that needs to be done. We need to find ways to better engage our communities and health officials to address this challenges."- stated Luis Scaccabarrozzi. Vice President of the Latino Commission on AIDS.

"It's an opportunity to bring together ideas on how we can have an impact on reducing the rising number of HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) cases among Latino Gay/Bi Men in New York State"- stated Luciano Reberte, Director of Latino Gay/Bi Men Initiatives, Latino Commission on AIDS.
