Washington, DC – The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute hosts its next virtual briefing on Education and Equity in a Post-COVID Society this Wednesday, June 3rd from 1pm to 4pm EST.

The briefing will consist of two sessions both moderated by Marco Davis, President and CEO of CHCI:

Part One will focus on Pre-K-12 education with policy leaders and education experts.  Panelists will discuss the needs of teaching professionals post pandemic; share best practices; adaptations of pedagogy to the digital classroom; and strengthening education that addresses ways forward in Hispanic communities.

Presenters at this 1pm to 2pm webinar include: Representative Raul Grijalva of Arizona; Lily Eskelsen Garcia, President of the National Education Association; Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers; and Patricia Gandara, Professor of Education and Co-Director of UCLA’s Civil Rights Project.

Part Two will highlight Postsecondary education ideas from national leaders.  Chief among those notions in play will be how to advance and support Latino students as these college students navigate a pandemic disproportionately impacting them and their college financing.

Presenters at this 3pm to 4pm webinar include: Congressman Gil Cisneros of California; Sarita Brown, Co-Founder & President of Excelencia in Education; and Shirley Collado, President of Ithaca College.

CHCI will host these events with distinct meeting ID’s. For those interested in participating on both events, both registrations must be submitted. Webinar registration can be found on CHCI’s web site: www.chci.org.
